dance 161: dance and theatre 1945-present| osu department of dance
Course Description: Dance 161 provides a survey of contemporary practices in western concert dance and theatre from 1945 to the present, with emphasis on major stylistic trends, multi-cultural influences, principal artists and their works. Artists and practices are introduced in chronologies that emphasize when such artists came to the forefront of public attention. Through lecture, readings, classroom discussions and experiences, as well as through viewing, thinking, and writing about related films, videos, slides, demonstrations, and performances, the course meets the objectives of the Arts and Humanities GEC requirement for Visual and Performing Arts. The course was taught by graduate assistant Annie Kloppenberg and developed by Dr. Candace Feck.
As a teaching assistant, I developed and taught weekly recitation sections and graded all materials for the course. I assisted Ms. Kloppenberg in developing paper assignments and exam questions.
