Two Great Tastes in One![but not David Ralley's * Homepage] |
|
|
Welcome to the homepage of the programmer with two lives. One in the US as programmer for LabanWriter at Ohio State University, and the other as the programmer for AudioSculpt at IRCAM My resume lives here. |
|
In the U.S. I work on
LabanWriter,
a dance notation editor for the macintosh.
This freeware allows users to notate dances on the computer using the laban
system of movement notation. The application makes heavy use of drag and drop,
quicktime for graphic export, carbon help technologies, and has been completely
carbonized for OSX.

In France, I work for
IRCAM, the Institute for Research and Coordination or
Acoustics and Music, where I develop
AudioSculpt,
a program that allows composers to manipulate the spectra of sounds through
filters, and extension and contraction of time using FFTs. My responsibility is
the graphical front end. Version 2 is now available for members of the IRCAM
forum.
You can't live in france and not go traveling to see what it has to offer. I haven't traveled as much as some, but I've had fun documenting what I have done. Writings from France:
