Alexis del Sol graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2001 with a degree in Civil Engineering. After working as an engineer for a little over a year, she decided corporate America was not for her. She made her passion her profession and went back to dance. In 2003, Alexis earned her Pilates certification from Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. To support her dance aspirations, Alexis has taught dance and Pilates for the past 7 years.
After returning to New York, Alexis has performed dance administration work for Urban Bush Women, Dance Theater Workshop and Dance New Amsterdam. She studied with Linda Sohl-Ellison, Christine Baltes, Nia Love, Katiti King, Deborah Lohse, Monica Bill Barnes and Oliver Steele. In 2008, Alexis danced with Urban Bush Women as an apprentice.
Alexis has big plans for her time here at Ohio State. Choreographically, she hopes to investigate dance in regards to the Latino Diaspora. In pursuit of her dance wellness goals, Alexis plans to research dance injury and dance injury prevention for the younger dance population.
