Rebecca Quintrell is working towards her BFA in Dance at The Ohio State University. Originally from Tennessee, she has received an Honorable Mention from The Tennessee Association of Dance and is a high ranking member of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. She was a senior member of Terpsichord Girls Preparatory School's modern dance company dancing under Cathie Ault Kasch and Laurel Moore Zahrobsky. Here she received both the Director’s Award and the Advanced Choreography Award. Rebecca was also a member of Contrapasso Modern Dance Company in Chattanooga, TN. She has attended Bates Dance Festival, where she received a merit scholarship, and American Dance Festival at Duke University. At ADF Rebecca has performed in repertory pieces choreographed by Curt Haworth, Neta Pulvermaucher, and Pamela Pietro. In spring of 2009, she was also awarded as Finalist in National Dance Education Organization’s Artistic Merit, Leadership, and Academic Achievement Award. At Ohio State, Rebecca is currently in Susan Hadley’s New Work for Drums Downtown as well as three pieces for the Winter Concert. Overall her training includes modern, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, improvisation, and ballroom. She has studied under many teachers some of which include Jennifer Nugent, Jesse Zaritt, Susan Hadley, and Jenifer Weber among others.
