Zuzanna "Zuzu" Mrozek attended high school at Lusher Charter School in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed her Certificate of Artistry in Dance there and at the same time studied with the New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA). While with NOBA she was part of the NORD/NOBA Center for Dance Company and worked with and performed work by Luna Negra Dance Theatre, Alfred Dove, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, and Robert Battle. While with the company she performed at Jacob's Pillow, The Kennedy Center, and Spoleto Festival USA. She was a company member of Komenka Ethnic Ensemble during high school as well and learned ethnic dances from around the world. She went on tour to Europe to Italy and Bulgaria with them in 2007. In the summers of 2008, 2009, and 2010, Zuzu was a student at the American Dance Festival (ADF) where she studied with Jennifer Nugent, Ishmael Houston-Jones, David Brick, Jesse Zaritt, and Gerri Houlihan. During the summer of 2009, she worked with Mark Dendy as a dancer on two site-specific pieces through ADF. The following year she worked with Tatiana Baganova on a new piece and performed it in the ADF presenting season as part of their "Past/Forward" series. Zuzu is currently a dance major at The Ohio State University and is anticipating receiving her BFA in 2014. |
